Current Role: Executive Director, Teach for America of Greater Philadelphia (Philadelphia, PA)

Fellowship Role: Chief School Support Officer, Camden Public Schools (Camden, NJ)

Anna Shurak currently serves as the Executive Director of Teach for America of Greater Philadelphia.

She has also served as an Assistant Superintendent and Chief School Support Officer in the Camden City School District. Prior to the Fellowship, she served as Principal at The Young Women’s Leadership School at Rhodes High School in Philadelphia. She has also served as an assistant principal for the School District of Philadelphia in a merger of three high schools into one. Anna has worked for the School District of Philadelphia for 10 years in a variety of roles—Corps Member, School Growth Teacher, Roster Chair, Principal Intern, Assistant Principal, and Principal (of her placement school). Anna also worked in the High School Superintendent’s Office, where she supported the Assistant Superintendent.

Anna holds a B.A. in Political Science from Indiana University and an M.S. in Educational Leadership and M.S. in Elementary Education from St. Joseph’s University.
