Lindsay McCrea, DC Public Schools, Director, Interdisciplinary Curricular Redesign

Lindsay McCrea currently serves as the Director of Interdisciplinary Curricular Redesign for DC Public Schools. In this role, she has led the development of an interdisciplinary Project-Based Learning curriculum for grades 3-8, integrating social-emotional skills into core academic curriculum to rethink the school experience for DC Public Schools students. Lindsay managed a multilevel team to leverage community feedback to design real-world, hands-on, and future-ready experiences through the support of a Bloomberg Philanthropies grant. Lindsay and her team supported the implementation of this curriculum across nine DCPS pilot school sites through professional learning and planning support, collaborating with school leaders to ensure successful implementation and gather stakeholder feedback on the curriculum.

Prior to this role, Lindsay served as a coach and curriculum leader for the DCPS Social Studies Team within the Office of Teaching & Learning. Lindsay started her career as a World History teacher at McKinley Technology High School in DCPS.

Lindsay is also the founder and Managing Partner of Third Coast Education Partners, LLC, an educational consulting organization who supports schools, districts, and organizations in transforming the student experience through strategic curriculum planning and development. Lindsay holds a B.A. in History with Teacher Licensure from Elon University in Elon, NC, and a M.A. in Educational Transformation, specializing in Advocacy & Policy, from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
