Kerry Tuttlebee, The Greene School, Head of School
Kerry Tuttlebee is an educational leader with over two decades of experience dedicated to fostering innovative, student-centered learning environments. Currently serving as the Head of School at The Greene School in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, Tuttlebee brings a visionary approach to education, emphasizing sustainability, equity, and community engagement.
Tuttlebee's career began as a preschool teacher in St. Paul, Minnesota, and evolved through various roles, including elementary teaching positions in Minneapolis Public Schools. She further honed her leadership skills as a Curriculum Coordinator and classroom teacher at the International Charter School in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Her commitment to educational innovation led her to serve as Project Director for The New Teacher Project (TNTP), where she was instrumental in developing Rhode Island’s first alternative pathway to teacher certification.
As the founding principal of 360 High School in Providence, Tuttlebee led the development of a mastery-based and personalized high school model. Under her leadership, the school received numerous accolades and competitive grants, including recognition as a “Lighthouse School” by the Rhode Island Office of Innovation and an XQ Schools Accelerator Award.
Throughout her career, Tuttlebee has been a champion of innovative educational practices, restorative practices, and multilingualism. Her ability to build positive school cultures and leverage strategic public and community partnerships has been recognized and celebrated in various educational publications.
Tuttlebee holds a bachelor's degree from Macalester College and master’s degree in education from St. Catherine University . She is known for her human-centered leadership style and her dedication to empowering both students and educators to achieve excellence.
