Jesús Rodríguez, Aurora Public Schools, Deputy Superintendent
Jesús Rodríguez is currently the Deputy Superintendent of Aurora Public Schools, where he oversees critical district functions while providing instructional and school leadership across the system. In this role, he leverages his extensive experience to drive innovation, foster collaboration, and create environments conducive to student success.
Jesús previously served as Superintendent of the Roaring Fork School District, where he continued his commitment to educational transformation to oversee the largest gains in proficiency from one year to the next as well as develop 50 housing units for staff. Prior to that role, he served as Deputy Chief Academic Officer in the Dallas Independent School District, one of the nation's largest districts, where his strategic vision played a pivotal role in shaping academic initiatives and accelerating student learning in post-pandemic rebounds. His diverse career spans positions from classroom teacher to successful turnaround school principal to instructional superintendent, as well as serving as a higher education executive director at the University of Colorado, Boulder. Throughout his career across Colorado's Front Range, Western Slope, and North Texas, he has demonstrated exceptional leadership in both urban and rural educational systems.
Jesús holds earned an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Denver, an MA in Education, Equity, Culture, and Diversity from the University of Colorado Boulder, and BAs in Elementary Education & Spanish from the University of Northern Colorado.
