Omar Reyes serves as an Instructional Superintendent, where he leverages equity-centered strategy, systems-level thinking, and values-driven executive coaching to build the leadership capacity of school principals across a diverse network of schools. In this role, he works in partnership with site leaders to (re)design instructional systems, (re)align resources, and (re)ignite collective efficacy in service of transformative student outcomes.

Omar Reyes is a seasoned educator, strategic systems-thinker, and executive coach with over 22 years of experience in public education. He currently supports a cluster of schools as Instructional Superintendent, driving instructional coherence, leadership development, and data-informed practices that improve student learning and strengthen school culture. A proud product of Alliance’s leadership pipeline, Omar began his journey as a founding teacher at Alliance Cindy & Bill Simon Technology Academy High School and later served as Assistant Principal. He went on to lead Alliance Kory Hunter Middle School as Principal, where he championed equity, academic excellence, and inclusive practices in the heart of the Florence-Firestone community.

Omar believes that leadership is both a technical and deeply human endeavor. He centers his coaching practice around values, identity, and the moral imperative to disrupt inequitable systems. His leadership is grounded in the belief that empowered leaders create empowered communities—and that schools thrive when adults are unified by purpose, driven by data, and sustained by culture.

Omar holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.A. in School Leadership from California State University, Dominguez Hills. When he’s not supporting school teams, Omar can be found coaching his two daughters on the soccer field and basketball court, modeling the same values of joy, teamwork, and resilience that shape his work as a leader.
