JuDonne Hemingway serves as the Founding Principal of Gary Comer College Prep 6-12. In this role, she explores how bold strategy, anti-racist practices, and core values-based leadership development work together to help leaders and organizations (re)ignite their superpowers and (re)imagine what’s possible.
JuDonne Hemingway is an experienced, innovative, and adaptive strategist who helps leaders and organizations persist unapologetically in pursuit of their visions. JuDonne currently serves as the Founding Principal of Gary Comer College Prep 6-12, Noble's first and only 6-12 campus, where the mission is to cultivate scholars to become knowledgeable, confident, and responsible leaders on a path to achieve their highest aspirations- in high school, college, and beyond. JuDonne leads her team towards this mission by providing an anti-racist school environment that focuses on joy, rigor, and relevancy where scholars are affirmed, challenged, and celebrated for both who they are and what they hope to become.
Prior to being a school principal, JuDonne served as the Senior Managing Director of Leadership Development at Teach For America Indianapolis. In this seat, she was responsible for building the capacity of over 400 beginning educators and alumni systems leaders in ways that disrupted inequitable practices for nearly 6,000 students across Indianapolis.
JuDonne is also the President and Founder of the Foundation for Racial Equity in Education (F.R.E.E) a high-impact fellowship for leaders of color in education. JuDonne holds a B. A. in English, an M.A. in Organizational Communications, and an M.A. in Teaching.
