Nicolle L. Haynes currently serves as the Executive Director of Equity, Inclusion and Curriculum Program Audit for the Rochester City School District.
Nicolle L. Haynes currently serves as the Executive Director of Equity, Inclusion and Curriculum Program Audit for the Rochester City School District. In this role, she has helped implement, and transform existing schools/alternative education programs to focus on inquiry-based learning, assessment for learning, teacher leadership, effective school leadership, culturally responsive practices, enhanced parent engagement, social emotional learning skills, and vibrant school culture and climate. She continues to provide professional learning and guidance on implementing research-based practices for developing, implementing, and measuring Culturally Responsive Sustaining Educational Practices in curriculum and instruction and across all learning environments.
Ms. Haynes earned a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and a master’s degree in secondary mathematics education from the University of Rochester, a master’s degree in strategic leadership from Roberts Wesleyan College, a master’s degree in educational administration from St. John Fisher College, and she completed her studies toward a doctorate degree (ABD) in executive leadership from Manhattanville College. Ms. Haynes believes that Equity is in the details of Teaching and Learning.
Ms. Haynes, has been a Math teacher, Math coach, ELA and Math Coordinator of Instruction, Math and Technology Department Chair Person, Building administrator, and Central Office Administrator (Executive Director of Parent Engagement, Assistant Director of Early Childhood, Program Evaluator for Bilingual/ESOL Programs, Co-Chair of Pre-school Special Education Committee, Director of School Culture and Climate, District Recruiter, and Lead Trainer for Culturally Responsive Practices, including Trauma Sensitivity, and Restorative Strategies).
Ms. Haynes has been a presenter for New York University, Rochester City School District, The United Way’s African American Leadership Development Program, Ithaca Community Action Coalition, Bronx Works, Inc., The Harlem Children’s Zone, The Syracuse City School District, Webster Central School District, Monroe County Athletic Directors, The City of Rochester’s Department of Human Services, and the Monroe County Regional Equity Network.
In addition to finishing her dissertation, Ms. Haynes is building her capacity as a Datawise Coach, and a National Implementation Research Network Implementation Specialist.
