Felicia Owo-Grant currently serves as the Director of Strategic Development and Leadership Coach at Friendship Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. In her role, she is responsible for leading academic strategy, providing support to the academic department, and providing coaching and development opportunities to principals and assistant principals.
Prior to her current position, Felicia held the role of Principal at Friendship Woodridge International School, a PK-8 school, from 2016 to 2021. She also served as an Assistant Principal at the same school from 2012 to 2015. During her tenure as Principal, the school consistently achieved high-performing Tier 1 school ratings from the D.C. Public Charter School Board. Felicia successfully led the school through the initial authorization and subsequent reauthorization as an International Baccalaureate World School. Under her guidance, the school received accolades such as being recognized as a Leveler School by the D.C. Policy Institute for its commitment to promoting educational equity. Furthermore, the school earned a BOLD Performance award from Empower K12 for its remarkable advancements in student achievement, particularly among at-risk students. In recognition of her achievements, Felicia was honored with the Diane Trister Dodge Scholarship Award for Emerging Leaders by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Felicia is widely respected for her strategic expertise in developing sustainable systems and processes that foster consistent and progressive achievement for students, teachers, and leaders. She also provides valuable consultation to educational leaders, offering guidance on school design, executing strategic initiatives, implementing data analysis and action planning, developing leaders, and delivering performance coaching.
Felicia holds a Doctor of Education degree from The University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Science degree from Trinity Washington University, a Master of Education degree from George Mason University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
