Tijana Davis is the Director of Equitable School Supports for Indianapolis Public Schools.
In this role, Tijana oversees culture & climate, social-emotional learning, social services, attendance, and expulsion for all schools with the LEA. Prior to the Fellowship, Tijana served as the Learning Community Director and Innovation Coordinator, where she was responsible for performing a variety of supervisory, managerial, and administrative tasks to ensure high-quality implementation of unified student support services and special education compliance for an assigned learning community. While at IPS, Tijana has reduced significant disproportionality in the discipline of special education students, specifically African American students, by increasing support to all stakeholders, facilitating high quality professional development, and creating effective systems; managed and developed the district's first team of Special Education Specialists--a role that serves as an instructional champion for our students with special needs by providing direct instructional support to assigned schools to increase student achievement of IPS students with special needs; and developed the district's first leadership series for special educators and led all three cohorts. Before joining IPS, Tijana was the Special Education Coordinator of The Excel Center Madison Avenue campus in Indianapolis, IN.
Tijana holds an M.A. in Education from Marian University and a B.S. from Indiana Technical University.
