Noah Mackert is the Director, Academic Intervention and Language Acquisition for Alliance College Ready Public Schools
In this role, Noah partners with school leaders to develop systems for identifying, teaching, and monitoring the progress of scholars at risk of academic failure, and he oversees instruction for the network's 2,000 English Language Learners. Prior to the Fellowship, Noah served as the founding Director of Literacy at Democracy Prep Pathways, a program designed to accelerate learning for scholars with disabilities. After Pathways scholars achieved a median growth of 2.5 grade levels in reading on NWEA's MAP test, Noah served as a special advisor to the CEO, recommending the scaling of policies that had proved most effective. Noah began his teaching career via Teach for America in New York City, spending a total of 11 years teaching writing, reading, and special education in traditional and charter middle schools.
Noah holds an Ed.M in Language and Literacy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education; an MST in K-6 teaching from Pace University; and a B.A. in Germanic Studies and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Spanish from Carleton College.
