Dr. Andre Lawe is the Instructional Superintendent at the Alliance College-Ready Schools
In this role, Andre has worked extensively on curriculum development and implementation; and mentoring and developing educators to effectively handle the challenges of the 21st century which include helping them to develop their teaching and pedagogical efficacy.
Dr. Andre Lawe spent most of his life in New York city until 2018 when he relocated to California. He has been an educator for 21 years, serving as a middle and High school teacher, Math coach, Math Department chair, Director of Mathematics, Assistant principal, and principal, and now he currently serves as an Instructional Superintendent at Alliance. Throughout his career, he has worked extensively on curriculum development and implementation. Most notably though, is his success with raising student achievement in Mathematics and Literacy. Dr. Lawe is excited about the opportunity to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to create an organizational culture that is most conducive to the academic and personal success of all students. He sees himself as a partner in the organization’s mission of disrupting systems and structures that serve as barriers to the success of Black and Brown scholars. Moreover, he is extremely passionate about creating the right conditions that acknowledge the brilliance of all Black and Brown children while ensuring that they can thrive.
He has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University, a Masters's Degree from Jones International University and St. John’s University; A certificate of advanced study in Educational leadership, and a Doctorate of Education degree from St. John’s University. He is interested in building capacity/efficacy in teachers and administrators, and ascribes to shared leadership, and philosophy.
