Dr. Edel Maeder is the Director of Science, K-12 Rochester City School District
In this role, Edel oversees science education for grades K-12 in the Rochester city school district. Prior to joining the Fellowship, Edel served as the Science Coordinator for the Greece Central School District. She is certified to teach Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and General Science and has the honor to teach science to thousands of middle and high school students. Edel is an active member of the National Science Teaching Association, Peer Review Panel, and the New York Science Content Advisory Panel. She is passionate about providing every child with meaningful science experiences that will foster their curiosity and appreciation of nature and the world.
Edel holds an Ed.D. in Education from the University of Rochester - New York, an M.S. in Science Education from the University of Rochester - New York, and a B.S in Biology from Nazareth College - New York.
