Lourdes Flores is the Chief Academic Officer, International Leadership Charter School

Lourdes Flores is the Chief Academic Officer, International Leadership Charter School. Previously she was the Managing Director of High Schools for Democracy Prep Public Schools. In this role, Lourdes effectively led a NYS SUNY-authorized charter school deemed failing in 2014 and turned around the school to a top-performing charter school within its five-year charter renewal with approval for an elementary expansion. During her tenure she increased pass rates in the school in all regents’ subjects and increased Advanced Regents Diploma rates from 1% to 95% within 5 years. In 2018- 19, over 98% of graduates matriculated into Ivy League and top-tier colleges the year following graduation. Earned US News Top 15 Charter schools for the 2020 school year. Led school through pandemic models of instruction including Remote, Hybrid, and in-person during the 2020-21 year with a return to in-person for the 2021-22 School year.

Lourdes holds a M.Ed in School Building Leadership from Mercy College, an M. Ed in Secondary Education from Mercy College and a B.A. in Spanish and Sociology from the University at Albany.
