Dr. Erwin Garcia is the Superintendent at the Billings Public Schools District

In this role, Erwin oversees 55 schools with different programs that include Dual-Language, International Baccalaureate, Magnet, Montessori, Early Childhood among others. Prior to his current role, Dr. Garcia served as a Principal Supervisor in the school transformation office and as a School Support Officer in the South and East areas in HISD. Dr. Garcia also served as principal and assistant principal of schools that under his tenure and support obtained statewide and nationwide recognition by the Children At Risk Organization, the Texas Education Agency and by the National Center of Urban School Transformation NCUST. Dr. Garcia has a proven record of success transforming and sustaining school excellence in impoverished communities.

Dr. Garcia holds a doctorate degree in executive leadership from Houston Baptist University, as well as Master’s degrees from Lamar University and University of Saint Thomas and a Bachelor’s degree from the Universidad Adventista de Colombia.
