Dr. Charles Perkins is the Assistant Superintendent, K-12 Curriculum and Instruction Rockingham County Schools, North Carolina

In this role, Charles leads and collaborates with 22 school principals to create meaningful learning experiences for students. Prior to joining the Fellowship, Charles served as director of school administration, high school principal, middle school principal, elementary school principal and English/language arts and social studies teacher all in his home district of Rockingham County. Charles also served as the director of club sports at NC State University before moving into public K-12 education. Charles was named District Principal of the Year in 2010; has graduated from the NC School Superintendent's Association Emerging Trends Leadership Network (2016); has graduated from the Leadership Rockingham Cohort (2015); and served as the District Point Person (DPP) and adjunct professor in the Principal Preparation for Excellence and Equity in Rural Schools (PPEERS) Master of School Administration Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since 2017.

Charles holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, a M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education, and a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; a Masters degree in School Administration from Appalachian State University, and a Masters degree in Sport Management from NC STATE University.
