Jeffrey O. Porter is the Managing Director of the Primary Division at Uplift Education.

Prior to taking on this role, Jeffrey served as the principal of Horace Mann for 8 years, leading a staff of 40 and a student population of over 400 PreK-8 students. During the span of Jeffrey’s leadership, Horace Mann has moved from a Level 3 to a Level 1+ ranking on CPS’s School Quality Rating Policy (SQRP). Before leading at Horace Mann, he served as principal at Phoebe A. Hearst Elementary School for three years, where he led his staff towards decisive gains in standardized test scores. In his final year as principal at Hearst, the school achieved double-digit gains in reading, math, and science based on ISAT (Illinois Standards Achievement Test) Assessment and 79% of students in math and 62% of students in reading met or exceeded projected RIT on NWEA. Jeffrey’s path to leadership also included 1 year as an assistant principal with Phoebe A. Hearst and George Manierre Elementary and a year-long principal residency at Prescott Elementary through New Leaders for New Schools. He also has 11 years of classroom teaching experience.

Jeffrey earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Dominican University, a Master of Art and Teaching in Elementary Education, Master’s in Administration and Supervision from Concordia University Chicago, Master's in Leadership from National Louis University and he is currently working on completing his Doctorate in Education Leadership from the University of Delaware.
