Fellowship Role: Executive Director at Democracy Prep at the Agassi Campus (DPAC)

Adam Johnson serves as the Senior Director at the College Board Western Region

DPAC is a tuition-free college prep K-12 charter school serving more than 1,100 children in West Las Vegas. During his tenure at DPAC, Adam has helped DPAC achieve a 5-star rating from the NV Department of Education while growing student enrollment.

Prior to joining staff at Democracy Prep Public Schools in 2016, Adam Johnson spent 5 years as a Leadership Team Member at Teach For America Las Vegas Valley where he was responsible for expanding community partnerships to enable TFA to increase the number of teachers it brought to Clark County.

Adam earned his MBA from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and his BA in
Accounting and Economics at St. Michael’s College in Burlington, Vermont.

In addition to his work responsibilities, Adam is an active member of the Las Vegas community. He is the former Board President of the Nevada State Charter School Authority, the body that oversees 40 plus charter schools and nearly 50,000 students throughout the state of Nevada. Adam also serves as a Board Member for Equipo Academy, a college prep charter school in East Las Vegas.

Today, he resides in Las Vegas with his wife, 14-year old son and 10-year old
daughter.
