Teryn Thomas is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EdLight
Prior to joining Freire, Teryn was an Investment Manager at Philadelphia School Partnership, where she coached principals across all three sectors on a targeted initiative to impact achievement results, improving the overall portfolio’s results across several indicators. During this time, one of the schools earned national recognition as a Blue Ribbon school, and another earned an award for the most growth on a standardized assessment as recognized by Philadelphia’s Teach For America. Teryn also served in the role of principal with KIPP NJ, where she led schools in Camden and Newark.
Teryn holds an M.S. in Education from the University of Pennsylvania with an emphasis on Urban Education and a B.S. in Business Administration from Drexel University.
