Duncan currently serves as an Assistant Superintendent at Democracy Prep Public Schools, a multi-state charter network.

In this role, he manages a portfolio of K-12 schools, coaches and develops school leaders, oversees civics and arts programming, and advises on special education and scholar support services. Duncan joined Democracy Prep in 2011 as a special education teacher and served in various roles within the network over the past eight years. Most recently, Duncan founded and served as Executive Director of Democracy Prep Pathways, a first of its kind innovative academic program in the state of New York aimed at exclusively serving students with exceptional learning needs. Prior to his time at Democracy Prep, Duncan served in a variety of educational roles, including teaching, career counseling, and managing college success programs around the country.

He holds a B.A. in History from Carleton College, completed his Master’s in Special Education at Hunter College, and received his school leadership training through the Emerging Leaders Program with Building Excellent Schools and Leader U at Democracy Prep.
