Current Role: Managing Director of Networks, Leading Educators

Pre-Fellowship Role: Director of School Support for the Achievement Network in New Orleans, LA

Katie Murphy is the Managing Director of Networks for Leading Educators.

During the Fellowship, she was the Managing Director of School Reviews for New Schools for New Orleans. In this role, she led the school review process that concluded with sharing high-level school strengths, growth areas, and recommended focus areas for action and provided an opportunity for school leaders to begin action planning with the input of other New Orleans-area education leaders. Prior to this role, Katie served as a Director of School Support for the Achievement Network in New Orleans, LA, where she coached 12 school leadership teams through the transition to the Common Core by building knowledge of the standards, instructional shifts, and data analysis skills. She also designed and led group learning for school leaders and teachers. Previously, Katie served as a Team Lead in Baltimore City Public Schools' School Support Networks where she managed teams of specialists providing academic, special education, operational, and family engagement support to 15 traditional and charter public schools while also evaluating the effectiveness of central office procedures and functions.

Katie holds an M.B.A. in Child, Youth, and Family Policies and Services from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College.
