Heather Lechner is the Executive Director of Education for the Technology Access Foundation.
During the Fellowship, she served as Associate Director of Special Services for Everett Public Schools in Everett, WA. In this role, she oversaw the daily operations and services for students with disabilities. Prior to this role, Heather was the Assistant Head of School at McDonogh #42 Charter School in New Orleans, LA, where she worked to improve academic growth 18.9 points in one year at this Type 5 turnaround charter school (a previously underperforming school requiring new leadership but maintaining current enrollment). Heather served as a school leader for grades 6-8 at SciTech Academy Charter School, where she boosted academic growth 31.8 points over two years at another Type 5 turnaround charter school in an urban setting. Before SciTech Academy, Heather was a co-principal for Grades 5-8 at Laurel Elementary School in New Orleans, LA.
Heather is a Ph.D. candidate for a Doctorate in Education from Columbia University. She holds an M.Ed. from Columbia University, an M.A. from Wayne State University, and a B.A. from Lewis and Clark College.
