Amanda Cahn currently serves as the Deputy Director of Strategy and Operations at the Center for Public Research and Leadership.
Previously, she was an education consultant based in New York City. During the Fellowship, Amanda was the Deputy Chief Portfolio Officer in the Office of Portfolio Management (OPM) at the New York City Department of Education. She supported the leadership of an office of 45 staff and led the Strategy and Policy team. Previous roles she held in OPM include Deputy Executive Director of the Planning team, Director of Bronx Planning, and Director of Queens Planning. Before joining the NYC DOE, Amanda worked in the Office of Professional Development at the District of Columbia Public Schools as an Education Pioneer. Prior to this, Amanda taught high school English in Phoenix as a Teach for America corps member. Before joining the corps, Amanda taught at Harlem Day Charter School in New York City.
Amanda holds a B.A. from Rice University in English, Economics, and Managerial Studies; an M.A.Ed. from the University of Phoenix in Secondary Education; and an M.B.A. from Columbia University with a focus in Social Enterprise. Amanda currently serves as a mentor through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
