Dr. Muronji Inman-McCraw, Inspired Teaching Demonstration Public Charter School, Principal

Dr. Muronji Inman-McCraw currently serves as the Principal of Inspired Teaching Demonstration Public Charter School (ITDS), a progressive PreK–8 school in Washington, DC. In this role, she leads with a deep commitment to cultivating a data culture that fosters student-engaged assessment practices, and building joyful, inclusive learning environments that affirm the brilliance of all students. During her tenure, Dr. Inman-McCraw has led strategic improvements in instructional leadership team alignment, professional learning, and collaborative teaming structures to accelerate student achievement and deepen collective efficacy across the school.

In addition to her school-based leadership, Dr. Inman-McCraw is the founder of a consulting practice that supports school and system leaders through strategic planning, curriculum design, professional development, and executive coaching. Her coaching work focuses on equipping early-career and aspiring leaders to lead with clarity and purpose to support promote sustainability.

Prior to ITDS, Dr. Inman-McCraw served as the Middle School Principal at Two Rivers Public Charter School, where she oversaw inclusive instructional practices, responsive school culture systems, and staff development. She has also held leadership roles at the Harlem Children’s Zone in New York City, including Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach, where she supported teacher growth in a network dedicated to academic excellence and disrupting intergenerational poverty.

She began her career as a special education teacher and coordinator—experience that continues to ground her leadership in inclusivity, differentiation, and learner-centered design.

Dr. Inman-McCraw holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in Special Education and Human Development from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Theatre with a minor in African-American Studies from Temple University. Her leadership is rooted in joy and taking children seriously—anchored by a belief in the transformative power of education to heal and liberate.
