Beatrix Jackson, Democracy Prep Public Schools, Director of Talent Acquisition
Beatrix Jackson serves as the Director of Talent Acquisition at Democracy Prep Public Schools. In this role, she leverages strategic foresight, equity-driven practices, and values-aligned leadership to build inclusive hiring systems that expand access and reimagine what’s possible in education.
Beatrix is a creative, community-rooted, and systems-oriented strategist who believes that talent is transformative when aligned with purpose and possibility. She leads the recruitment and hiring strategy across a national charter network, building diverse pipelines and refining systems to ensure every hire brings schools closer to their mission. She partners closely with senior leadership to ensure hiring practices are not only effective, but also deeply human-centered and equity-informed.
A seasoned educator and former Assistant Director of Special Education, she brings a systems-thinking mindset to complex organizational challenges and is passionate about creating pathways for underrepresented communities in education. Beatrix has also served as an adjunct professor at Hunter College, coaching the next generation of teachers through the NYC Teaching Fellows program, and is a former Teach For America corps member.
Beatrix is current fellow in Richmond’s Urban Farming Fellowship with Happily Natural, a high-impact program focused on food security and social justice in urban landscapes shaped by redlining. She holds a B.A. in Race & Politics in America from New York University and an M.P.A. in International Affairs from Rutgers University. Beatrix pairs academic rigor with a deep commitment to community. She is a certified sound healer, military veteran advocate, and storyteller who believes in the transformative power of education, healing, and collective leadership.
