Kevin Stockdale, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Chief Financial Officer

Kevin Stockdale is the Chief Financial Officer of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. In this role, Kevin promotes the effective utilization of funds in a sustainable manner that prioritizes equitable student outcomes and experiences.

Kevin has deep experience in public finance, having served as the CFO of three large organizations in the education and human services sector. During his time at CMSD he planned for and publicly communicated the end of ARP/ESSER and developed the financial fact-base used in the passage of a levy supplying additional funding for operations and construction. Under his direction, and in collaboration with Academics, the District implemented the most significant revisions to the school budget formula since its inception in 2015. These revisions improved equity, access, transparency, and sustainability.

Prior to joining CMSD Kevin was the CFO and Deputy Director of Administration for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. In this role advocated for and implemented expanded access to vocational and rehabilitative programming, improved technology to maintain pro-social connections with family at the lowest price, and administered the substantial reconstruction of four prisons to meet the current health and rehabilitation needs of incarcerated people.

In addition to working as CFO, Kevin has experience policy experience in curriculum and assessment from service with the Ohio Department of Education and state budgeting from time with the Office of Budget and Management. He was formerly an adjunct instructor for a graduate course in public procurement at the John Glenn School of Public Affairs, Ohio State University.

Kevin holds a B.A. in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration.
