Alexis Simpson, KIPP Foundation, Senior Director, High School Design and Implementation
Alexis Simpson is the Senior Director of High School Design and Implementation at the KIPP Foundation. In this role, Alexis leads the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive high school academic model across content areas, setting a network-wide vision of excellence for high school academic pathways—including Advanced Placement courses, dual enrollment, and shared curricula. She partners closely with regional and network leaders to ensure all KIPP high school students have access to rigorous, equitable, and meaningful learning experiences that prepare them for postsecondary success. Previously, Alexis served as the Director of High School English, where she supported curriculum adoption and teacher development through the Rigor Community of Practice.
Prior to joining the KIPP Foundation, Alexis was an English achievement manager, assistant principal, instructional coach, and AP English Literature and Language teacher with KIPP New Orleans Schools. She expanded her impact in high school ELA by designing curriculum and supporting implementation with organizations such as Imagine Learning, Fishtank Learning, and Pivot Learning. Alexis also serves on an Equity Advisory Council for Google for Education.
She holds a B.S. in Human and Organizational Development from Vanderbilt University and an Ed.M. in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Alexis began her education career as a Teach For America Corps member in Greater New Orleans. She currently lives in Washington, DC with her husband, Michael.
