Shalon Bond is the Director of Social Studies for the Dallas Independent School District. In this role, she is responsible for planning and leading their comprehensive approach to K12 curriculum, instruction, and assessments. During her tenure, Shalon expanded the work of the Social Studies department by creating high-quality aligned curricular and assessment resources, establishing two Ethnic Studies courses in partnership with the Racial Ethnic Office, and ensuring co-curricular programs including Mock Trial, National History Day, and Model United Nations thrived to influence student academic excellence.

Shalon holds a B.A. from Texas A&M University-Commerce, an M.A. in Education from Travecca University and a Superintendency Certification from the University of Texas at Arlington.
