Arman Lakes currently serves as the Redesign Director for the District of Columbia Public Schools.

Arman Lakes currently serves as the XQ Redesign Director for District of Columbia Public Schools. In this role, he uses a human-centered design approach to reimagine the high school experience. Dr. Lakes leads stakeholders in change management and strategic planning, including the design and implementation of retention strategy, professional development support plan, data systems to support academic, operational, and cultural success. Prior to this role Dr. Lakes served as the school counselor and restorative practices practitioner at Ron Brown College Preparatory High School. In this role, he coached teachers to develop classrooms and developmental interventions to enhance student achievement and decrease out of school suspensions. Thus, resulting in highest performing Ninth Grade Academy in the DCPS with a 96% promotion rate.


Arman hold an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Howard University, M.A in School Counseling from Clark Atlanta University, and a B.A. in Public Relations Management from Clark Atlanta University.
