Shea Reeder is the Director of Leader Talent Outreach at Zeta Charter Schools In NYC
In this role, Shea oversees all leader hiring for the network of schools and is working closely with the Director of Talent to codify and scale the talent team as the network grows each year. Prior to the fellowship, Shea served as Managing Director where she launched Zeta Charter Schools’ first school in the Bronx, coached junior leaders across the network, and achieved 90% of all Kindergarten and 1st grade students ending on grade level during the first year of operation. She moved on to be the Director of School Support and Leadership where she supported & managed school leaders, conducted weekly professional development, and helped to scale efforts as Zeta grew in size each year. Before joining Zeta 4 years ago, Shea founded a successful K-4 elementary school at Success Charter School. During her time as principal, she led her school to be one of the top-performing schools in the state in ELA and Math. By 2018, 99% of 3rd-grade students and 97% of 4th-grade students in her school passed the Math State Exam, compared to 34% of students in the district overall. Student’s scores in ELA were also remarkable, with 82% of her 3rd grade and 87% of her 4th-grade students passing the ELA State Exam compared to just 27% of students across the public schools in the district.
Shea holds an M.Ed from Mercy College, an Ed.S. from Jones International University, and a BBA from Audrey Cohen College.
