Kevin Zimmer is the Senior Director, of Academic Operations at Mastery Charter Schools

In this role, Kevin serves as the chief of staff to the Chief Academic Officer and manages the planning and implementation of key academic strategic initiatives, including new curriculum adoption, summer learning, high dosage tutoring and grading policy. Prior to working for Mastery, Kevin worked at TNTP where he built the capacity of central office leaders as a Project Director in school districts across the country including the School District of Philadelphia and Camden City School District, served as a Senior Site Advisor on the national Teaching Fellows support team helping launch new alternate route teacher training programs and was a founding team member of the Philadelphia Teaching Fellows program. Kevin started his career in education as a middle school English Language Arts teacher in Houston, TX and Tallahassee, FL.

Kevin has a Master’s in Public Administration with a certificate in Non-profit Management from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. in English from Brown University.
