Fellowship Role: Chief Equity & Achievement Officer, Lorain City School District (Lorain, OH)

Kenan is the Co-founder of AIC Education Partners.

Previously, he served as the Chief Equity and Achievement Officer for Lorain City School District in Northern Ohio, where he and his colleagues collaborated with scholar-centric stakeholders to redefine public education and turn around the traditionally underperforming district.

Prior to that role, Kenan taught and led charter schools in Northeast Ohio, co-labored with highly effective teams who saw their schools achieve grades of C & B on State Report Cards, and served as the Founding Executive Director of the Akron & Canton Preparatory Schools within the I CAN SCHOOLS Network. In this role, their Canton Campus outperformed the entire county in their first year of operations. Kenan has been involved within the greater educational equity conversation as a workshop presenter at Akron University's Black Male Summit, Kent State University's See You at College Initiative, and The Lorain County YWCA's Anti-Hate Summit.

Kenan holds an M.Ed in Curriculum & Instruction from Kent State University of Kent Ohio and B.S. in Elementary Education with a concentration in Pan African Studies and Fine & Professional Arts from Kent State University.
