Fellowship Role: Deputy Assistant Superintendent, Madison Metropolitan School District

Nancy is a Partner at the Management Center.

Previously, she served as the Chief of Schools at Madison Metropolitan School District in Wisconsin. During the Fellowship, Nancy served in that district as the Deputy Superintendent. Prior to joining Madison Metropolitan School District, Nancy served as the principal of Melody Elementary School located on the west side of Chicago. Nancy focused on increasing education and life outcomes for inner city students in Chicago and beyond. Her work focused on school-level instructional leadership, teacher effectiveness, and community empowerment. She brought a wealth of educational experiences to her role, ranging from classroom teaching to instructional coaching in Houston, Atlanta, Boston, and Chicago. She worked with teachers and administrators to implement instruction based on the Common Core English language standards, extend the length of instructional time offered to students, and to launch a new teacher evaluation system.

Nancy holds a B.A. in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University and an M.S. in School Leadership from Harvard University. Nancy was also awarded with Teach For America Distinguished Alumni Award in 2012.
