Latasha M. Geverola, Chicago Public Schools, Network 11 Chief of Elementary Schools

Latasha M. Geverola is a veteran educator. Geverola began her career 22 years ago as a Middle School Reading Teacher at in Chicago Public Schools. Her passion for technology led to an eventual transition into the role of Computer Teacher at a High School, after which she served as an IB Coordinator, Assistant Principal, and eventually, as Principal of DePriest Elementary - the school where she began her CPS career.

Latasha is a dynamic and results-driven educational leader with decades of experience in teaching, curriculum development, and school leadership. Known for her expertise in improving student achievement, Latasha has a proven track record in developing and coaching teachers, enhancing school culture, and driving instructional improvement. Her leadership strengths include operational and instructional leadership, building a collaborative and responsible school culture, and strategic planning. She is also skilled in securing funding, establishing strong community partnerships, and developing International Baccalaureate (IB) programs. Latasha's ability to foster data-driven decision-making and conduct educational initiatives makes her the key leader in shaping the future of education in her network.

Latasha has been married to her husband for 22 years and is the mother of two children - a daughter who is a current CPS student and a son who is following in his mother’s footsteps as an education major at Illinois State University.
