Dr. Amerah Archer, Toledo Public Schools, Senior Director for the Department of Organizational Development and Engagement
Dr. Amerah Archer is currently the Senior Director for the Department of Organizational Development and Engagement with Toledo Public Schools (TPS). In this role she leads strategic initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness and foster a positive workplace culture. Amerah also oversees the district’s grow-your-own teacher pipeline programs, starting with students in 5th grade.
Previously, Amerah served TPS as the acting Executive Director for the Department of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Within her first year in this role, she was awarded the Equality in Education award by Equality Toledo as well as the Social Impact award by the United Pastors for Social Empowerment. Prior to that, she served as a high school science teacher for 10 years in TPS, teaching Chemistry and Physical Science. Her wealth of experiences, education and content knowledge have assisted her to engage audiences –locally and nationally– through training, conference presentations and written publications. Additionally, Dr. Archer is a youth mentor, serves on the Board of Directors for Madd Poets Society, Toledo Sister Cities International (TSCI), and is the founder of Equity Driven Education Nexus – E.D.E.N., an educational consulting firm.
Amerah holds all her degrees from the University of Toledo, Toledo, Ohio. They are as follows: Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master’s Degree in Education, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry; all three degrees were funded by academic scholarships and fellowships.
