Roxanne Rangel is the KIPP Texas Managing Director of Primary Curriculum and Instruction.

Roxanne Rangel is the KIPP Texas Managing Director of Primary Curriculum and Instruction. In this role, she leads curriculum design and implementation for grades PK3-5 in KTX’s 23 primary schools. During her time at KIPP Texas, she has led the work to shift elementary literacy practices towards evidence-based practices, yielding a 26% increase in the percentage of KIPPsters reading on/above grade level in the course of one year.

Prior to joining KIPP Texas, Roxanne led academic achievement and talent development work at IDEA Public Schools in various roles from 2012 to 2021. In 2012, Roxanne joined IDEA Public Schools as an Assistant Principal of Instruction where she had the opportunity to manage teachers across each content area and special population, Kinder through 5th grade. She is most proud of the transformational work she led with her K-2nd grade team at IDEA Montopolis Academy to dramatically increase student achievement across reading, language arts, and math, earning them Most Improved Academy of the Year for IDEA Central Texas schools. Most notably, during her time on the IDEA Austin Regional team, Roxanne supported the work to build leadership development systems to help IDEA Austin become one of the highest performing school districts inside of the Austin city limits.

Roxanne is a proud Latina and native Texan. She holds a B.A. from Rice University and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from University of Texas – Rio Grande Valley.
