Virginia Boyce is the Regional Superintendent at Democracy Prep
In this role, Virginia is the founding principal and Regional Superintendent at Democracy Prep at the Stewart Campus, where she has helped launch a unique partnership between San Antonio ISD and Democracy Prep. She is proud to lead a neighborhood charter school dedicated to preparing all kids for success in college and a life of active citizenship. Coming out of the pandemic, the school achieved a B rating from the Texas Education Agency in the 21-22 school year due to significant academic growth in reading and math. Previously she worked at Will Rogers Academy in SAISD, where she supported students as a teacher, instructional coach, and campus administrator for 8 years.
A graduate of Georgetown University, she started her teaching career through Teach For America as a bilingual Pre-K teacher, continuing on to teach 2nd and 3rd grades before earning her Master in Education in Educational Leadership from UT Austin. She is passionate about cultivating a love of reading in students, providing enrichment opportunities outside the classroom, and ensuring that every student is safe, supported, and prepared for higher education.
