Fellowship Role: Executive Director of Teaching and Learning at Tulsa Public Schools
Erin Armstrong is the Interim Chief Learning Officer at Tulsa Public Schools.
Erin previously oversaw the secondary core content managers and K-12 supports for data driven instruction, library services, fine arts, and educational technology systems as the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning at Tulsa Public Schools. In that role, Erin managed several grants, including a formative practices grant from the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation, USDE SEED grant with UnboundEd, and The Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child grant. Prior to that role, Erin served as the Director of Data Driven Instruction for Tulsa Public Schools, where she was responsible for developing a comprehensive assessment system for the district. As the director, Erin co-lead the work of the Tulsa Curriculum & Assessment Alignment Group, reviewing current assessment practices and making recommendations to the superintendent on reducing time spent on assessments in order to maximize academic learning time. In addition, her department managed Reading Sufficiency, graduation progress monitoring, and proficiency based promotion and well as district and state assessment regulation training and compliance. Erin has also served as a Tulsa principal, literacy coach, and classroom teacher.
Erin holds an M.S. in Teaching, Learning, and Leadership in literacy from Oklahoma State University, along with a B.S. in elementary literacy from Oklahoma State University.
