Current Role: Deputy Chief, Talent Management, KIPP Texas Public Schools
Fellowship Role: Managing Director of Talent Development for KIPP Texas Public Schools.
Caitlin Butler is the Managing Director of Talent Development for KIPP Texas Public Schools.
In this role, Caitlin is charged with supporting staff to confidently assume a long-term trajectory at KIPP Texas. Since the integration of four autonomous regions in 2018, Caitlin has been responsible for aligning and redesigning KIPP Texas’ approach to teacher and leader development. This has resulted in the overhaul of AP and SL development, the launch of multiple statewide programs including, the Teacher Career Pathway, Relay GSE Residency, and the Principal-in-Residence program, and the redesign of compensation and bonus structures. These system wide initiatives have increased teacher and leader pipeline health, increased retention year over year, and have supported high satisfaction rates across schools and leaders. Prior to KIPP Texas, Caitlin worked at Teach For America as the Managing Director of Teacher Leadership Development in both the Rio Grande Valley and San Antonio.
Caitlin is currently pursing an M.A. in Public Leadership from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and holds a B.A. in Journalism and English from the University of Minnesota. Caitlin also completed the National Principal Supervisory Fellowship with the Relay Graduate School of Education.
